Emergency Committee
The Master Board-Elect, has requested copies of all of the Emergency plans from Lang, Wackenhut, and Kolter.

Please call 911 in an emergency rather than the guard gate. This saves valuable time.
------------------------------------------ November 19, 2006 PORI safety and security chairperson, Warren Sonne, continues to work to coordinate the Emergency Management Plans of the County, Wackenhut, and Lang. A special workshop will be scheduled in January for the Residents of the Reserve/PGA Village.

Watch here for an update. ------------------------- May 26, 2006 As you know the Nuclear Seminar was cancelled due to lack of participation. We will try again in the fall when there are not so many scheduling conflicts.
April 30, 2006 At the recent PORI Board meeting it was decided to place the Emergency Management Duties under the Safety Committee. Warren Sonne remains the Chairperson. Warren has scheduled a Nuclear Seminar on Tuesday May 23, at the Wanamaker Room. The seminar will be presented by Charles "Chris" Christopher, Radiological Coordinator from the Sheriff's Office. The meeting time is scheduled from 7:00PM until 8PM.
------------------------------------- April 14, 2006 Fifty members of the community attended the April 10 workshop to hear the Windstorm expert from Hurricane House speak along with the representatives of Wackenhut. Especially during hurricane season, please notify Wackenhut, at the East gate, when you will be away. In the event we have serious damage in a future storm, this will save them time, if they know you are not home. -------------------------------------

Chairperson needed. Must be able to coordinate with Security, CDD, Kolter, and Residents. Must be able to travel throughout the community to assess preparedness, report problems, or damage, and assist those in need prior to and immediately following an emergency situation.

The PORI board is looking for a volunteer to become the new chairperson of the Emergency Mangement Committee. This should be a full time resident, and someone who expects to stay in PGA Village during future hurricanes.

--------------------------------------- October 16, 2005 The Emergency Preparedness seminar was very sucessful. Two others are planned for the spring. These will be in conjuction with the Security committee and the Sheriff's Office and Fire Department.

The Emergency Management Committee of PORI has made special arrangements for a Hurricane Preparedness Seminar for the residents of the Reserve (PGA Village). Our guest speaker is from the University of Florida office at the County Research and Education Center. ----------------------------------------------------------- August 22, 2005 PORI will sponsor a "HURRICANE PREPAREDNESS" seminar on Wednesday, September 7, 2005 from 7:00PM-8:00PM at the Wanamaker room located in the Golf Club at the end of Perfect Drive. Karla Lensesty from the University of Florida will be the presenter. Please tell your friends and neighbors about this event. Hopefully we won't need the information, but it is better to be prepared. ----------------------------------------------------------- August 8, 2005 PORI has established a new emergency management committee. The co-chairpersons are Lin Eshleman and Ben Kirman. If you would like to volunteer for this committe please contact Lin at lhemse@juno.com or Ben at business 7007@adelphia.net. They will be working with the developer and management staff to assist in keeping the community informed during times of emergency. ________________________________________________________
